There are currently an estimated 1.4 million homeless Veterans in the United States. This is a tragic number. This estimate needs to reach ZERO.
Our permanent mission at Vigilant Veterans is to provide temporary short to medium term (1-9 months) of safe housing to our homeless Veterans and their immediate families. A temporary stable environment will provide our Veterans and their families with an opportunity to get back on their feet.
Along with housing, Veterans will have access to VA medical care, Mental Health Professionals and employment support.
We are currently in talks with a corporation that owns a condemned hotel in Washington State. If we can acquire and renovate this hotel, we will be able to provide safe housing to 47 Veterans and their families. Acquiring this hotel is an extremely large undertaking. Renovations will be an even larger task, but it will be worth it. The hotel is centrally located in a small city. Within walking distance are grocery stores, medical care, employment services and city parks.
Currently all funding is provided by private donations. We are working diligently on getting an online store up and running. All profits from the online store will go directly into funding our endeavors.
